Anchorage Bar Association

One of the valuable services the Anchorage Bar Association provides to its members is the opportunity to know one another outside of the adversarial experience of the courtroom. In a small legal community such as Anchorage, developing social relationships, between attorneys as well as with members of the judiciary, is essential for the health of the legal community and for the delivery of cost-effective legal services to our clients.

To this end, the Anchorage Bar Association sponsors several annual events and other events throughout the year. All events are free to Anchorage Bar Association members. See what is coming up below.

Regular Events

The Anchorage Bar Association St. Patrick's Day Party is held annually on the closest weekday to St. Patrick's Day, March 17. Irish music and plenty of hors d'oeuvres and libations are provided. This is a very popular and well-attended event every year.

The Anchorage Bar Association also hosts Bench and Bar receptions between Anchorage attorneys and state and federal judges with seats in Anchorage. The Anchorage Bar is also proud to help sponsor judicial robing and retirement receptions. The Anchorage Bar additionally hosts brown bag CLEs in order to provide practitioners the opportunity to discuss topical legal issues affecting the community. Finally, the Bar Association has also hosted other events such as a Holiday Party, Summer Picnic, and receptions with members of the Russian delegation for the Alaska-Khabarovsk Rule of Law Partnership, a part of the Russian American Rule of Law Consortium.
