The Anchorage Bar Association has a long and proud history of involvement in public service to the Anchorage community. Over the years, the Anchorage Bar has sponsored brown bag lunches on substantive legal issues, funded the Young Lawyers Section, offered substance abuse program loans for its members, provided advocacy on legal issues affecting members, awarded grants to law-related organizations and activities in Anchorage and in Alaska more generally, given an annual grant to Bean’s Café, and rewarded one member each year with the Distinguished Service Award.
Anchorage Bar Association members range from recent graduates and law clerks to practitioners with decades of experience. Working for private firms, corporations or public agencies, Anchorage Bar Association members practice in diverse areas in both civil and criminal law, whether transactional or litigation.
In order to greater serve its members through providing social and educational programming and other valuable services, the Anchorage Bar Association has developed a corporate partnership program. Under this program, local businesses and national companies with a strong Alaskan presence are invited to sponsor events or provide special discounts to members. The Bar is also pleased to partner with local businesses to provide discounts for its members.
